This is the ultimate sweet and salty snack. It is really difficult to stop eating it and barely lasts a few days in my home. I must admit, it is a bit of a chore to make, with the slicing and roasting of the nuts, but the delicious outcome makes it all worthid.
I don’t make this mix often, and usually save this treat for a special occasion or function. It is a definite crowd pleaser, as both sweet and savoury eaters find their favourites in this delightful munch.
You can easily remove, add or substitute any of the ingredients for your favourites and make your own millionaires mix. I must warn you that this recipe yields a large amount of the mix, though if the occasion, it is an ideal gifting option to family and friends.
Hope you enjoy this crunchy, chewy, salty, nutty, sourish, soft, toasty, and utterly addictive snack as much as I do.

Turkish Delight Millionaires Mix
Ingredients :
- 300g Raw almonds
- 300g raw cashews
- 300g raw pecans
- 200g flaked almonds
- 300g flaked coconut
- 2 bars nougat, flavour of your choice
- 1 box rose flavoured Turkish delight
- 1 kg fruit cubes or equivalent jelly tots, mixed flavours
- 1 pkt mini pink and white marshmallows
- a small packet of coconut ice, cubed
- 2 tblsp icing sugar
- 1 tblsp corn flour
Directions :
Firstly, cut the raw almonds, cashews and pecan nuts into half and roast in a 100 degree oven for about 1 hour. Seperately, roast the coconut and flaked almonds in a 70 degree oven for about 20-30 minutes, until light brown and crunchy. Allow to cool.
Cut the nougat and turkish delight into small bite size cubes and toss with icing sugar and corn flour, ensuring that all sides are well coated, to avoid them sticking together.
Combine all the prepared ingredients in a large pot and mix well. Store in an airtight container. Enjoy!
*The mixed fruit cubes are available at Montagu or Manolis.
