Winter is upon us, and with the chilly weather there’s also new fruit and vegetables in season. Pears are just one of the lovely fruits available at the moment. They are an absolute family favorite and I wanted my baby to try them out as well.
I tried this combination of sweet potato (last of the autumn season) pears and couscous. My baby enjoyed it thoroughly.
Give this purée a try with your baby and toddler.
Sweet Potato and Pear Couscous
Preparation time : 1 hour
- 2 sweet potatoes
- 2 pears
- 1/4 cup couscous
Roast pears and potatoes in a preheated 180 degree oven for about 45 minutes or until soft. Prepare couscous according to package instructions.
Combine cooked pear, sweet potato and couscous and add a little water and blend until desired consistency is reached. I keep it a little textured as my baby is older, but you can purée it until very smooth.
